Steve Noble
With a long history in the networking industry I am known as a Fire Fighter, solving complex problems quickly and working to find solid resolutions. I have spent much of my time breaking networks and equipment while evaluating their strengths/faults. I look at issues from both the SP and Vendor sides, trying to balance the needs of the customer with the state of technology. My knowledge is utilized by advising boards, venture capitalists and staff on the value of the product/company/idea they are evaluating. My latest endeavor, Router and Switch Analysis (RaSA) uses my testing and presentation skills helping companies create and execute test plans. We also give training to enterprise and SP companies on best practices when testing network equipment. Previously I was with XDN which focused on solving not only CDN Federation issues but storage and resource balancing. Combining crowd sourced hardware and sophisticated software to build a best of breed Delivery Network where everyone involved benefits. As the VP of Technology I spent my time working with Customers and Providers taking feedback and providing solutions that match their needs. Previous to XDN I worked at Cisco Systems where I focused on understanding the competition. Finding the tipping point of companies like Huawei, Alcatel and Juniper was my primary goal. I then took the information, broke it down into manageable, digestible parts (many times focused for a specific customer/deal) and delivered it to the representative(s). At Procket Networks, I built a customer simulation lab. The goal of the lab was to shake the equipment in different ways, finding issues and weaknesses before the Customer could. Before Procket I a early employee of Exodus Communications, where I was able to help define what an Internet Data Center should be, build a large network that scaled at an previously unheard of rate while handling DoS/DDoS attacks against our customers.
